Why Zoom?
Although over-the-counter teeth whitening products are now available, nothing will make your teeth as white as professional teeth whitening systems. The Zoom whitening process is effective on most discoloured teeth.
Some discolourations are superficial while others are internal. There are many causes behind tooth staining. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, colas, tobacco and red wine. During tooth formation, consumption of tetracycline, certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride may also cause tooth discolouration.

There are darker stains, such as those caused by antibiotics, which are more difficult to whiten.  The degree of whiteness, after the treatment, will vary from patient to patient depending on the structure and condition of their teeth and the nature of the stain.

How does this tooth whitening system work?
This is a very simple procedure.
It begins with a short preparation of covering your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed.  Our Zoom clinician then applies the proprietary Zoom Whitening Gel (specially designed to be used with a specially designed light.  This light and gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up stains and discolouration; doing the 'whitening-work' you've been wanting for so long.
The Zoom light activated whitening gel's active ingredient is Hydrogen Peroxide.  As the Hydrogen Peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, bleaching coloured substances while the structure of the tooth is unchanged.  The Zoom light aids in activating the hydrogen peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth.  A study has shown that use of the Zoom lamp increases the effectiveness of the Zoom gel by 26% or more, giving an average improvement of eight shades.
Zoom! In-Office Whitening System will make your teeth dramatically whiter in less that an hour.  With proper care your smile will sparkle for years.  Take your first step to feeling good; looking awesome and making a memorable impression every time you smile.

How Long Do the Whitening Effects Last?

Whitening is not permanent. People who expose their teeth to foods and beverages that cause staining may see the whiteness start to fade in as little as 1 month. Those who avoid foods and beverages that stain may be able to wait one year or longer before another whitening treatment or touch-up is needed.

Is it safe?
This is a very safe procedure.  Extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is very safe.  In fact, many dentists consider whitening the safest cosmetic dental procedure which is available.  As with any tooth whitening product, Zoom is not recommended for children under 13 years of age and pregnant or lactating women.
